An 80s-themed diner a little ways off the Strip with your favorite 80s stars and horror icons.
Slashers and 80s Pop Collide
A short drive from the Strip, right next to UNLV, you’ll find Back to the 80s Cafe, a diner that’s perfect for the slasher summer nostalgia we all crave, but is also filled with a ton of 80s horror icons, which makes it a great little stop for a spooky bite in Vegas.
Ecto-1 is parked right out front, and once you’re inside, it’s a very bright 80s vibe and the black and white checkered floor really ties the room together. I ordered at the counter, gave a respectful nod to the Garbage Pail Kids, and made my way over to the bar side, where the spooky is.
A whole gang is there to greet you including Michael Myers, Leatherface, a couple of Killer Klowns, and more. There’s a sandworm coming through the ceiling and the Gremlins are running things behind the bar. There’s plenty of seating at the long bar and some high tops behind.
I grabbed a burger and tots (Tetris-shaped, perfect touch), and the food was solid. A good stop for a lunch break in between spooky stops.
