For months now I have seen non-stop Jaws exhibit videos across IG and TikTok, and my household stans Bruce, but as an avid procrastinator, I just kept thinking “I’ll do it some time in the next few weeks.” Welp, the time is now my friends. It ends July 26th. As in a month from now.
Luckily for us, there are a ton of spooky spots just down the street, so even if you cannot end your day Amity Island, this is still a fun day sans the Wilshire stop. But try to not miss out on everyone’s favorite Great White and enjoy a little spooky-themed day in Los Angeles.
Blackcraft Coffee
Whenever possible, that first stop will be coffee, ideally of the spooky variety. The Blackcraft Coffee Los Angeles location opened earlier this year bringing that Salem witchy vibe with it.
This is not a grab-and-go stop. You’re gonna order your drink, explore the shop in back (maybe buy some coffee beans or a cool shirt), and then grab a seat to enjoy your coffee.
My only warning is parking can be a gentle pain in the butt. Even at peak times it’s not impossible, but it also isn’t going to be the smoothest part of the day. If you’re up for a little walking and stressed over parking, I would recommend parking once and then walking to the first five stops.
Now that everyone’s awake and caffeine headaches are warded off, let’s take a little half mile walk to Slasher World.
Slasher World & Slashback Video
This is a two for one situation with Slasher World in front and Slashback Video, a ticketed experience, in back. You can read a more detailed breakdown here, but the long and short of it is this is a fun stop with a ton of photo ops and horror merch.
You’ll start in front, a massive store with themed areas featuring your favorite slasher. You can take a picture with Michael or Leatherface, or snag some Scream themed items.
Next, you’re headed to the counter to buy a ticket for Slashback Video, a gem in back. On my last visit it was a $13 ticket, but you can check with their IG to confirm. This is a horror VHS exhibit. So many VHS tapes. You will feel 10 years old again wandering around a Blockbuster on a Friday night. On top of a very impressive collection, there are VHS art pieces created by local artists, and the whole setup is very early 90s video store, so all of the photo ops.
With IG stories posted and memories made, let’s keep it going with some clothes shopping. If you’re hungry and not in the mood for retail therapy, jump straight to lunch. From here it’s another half mile down the road, so it’s choose your own adventure between driving and a stroll. The next three stops are all super close though, so you’ll only need to re-park once.
Foxblood
If “black is the new black” is your motto, Foxblood is the place for you. There was one white shirt, so it spoke to my mostly-black, always neutral fashion sense. They are also very size inclusive, so you aren’t going to fall in love with a piece only to have your dreams shattered by the limited range in sizes.
At this point your feet need a rest and your body needs some fuel, and it’s just a four minute walk to Lucifer’s Pizza.
Lucifer’s Pizza
Lucifer’s Pizza has a small chain of stores around Los Angeles, so it’s often my go-to for a spooky meal around LA. The pizzas are pretty tasty (get the Pumpkin Prosciutto it is so damn good), there’s seating, and it’s air conditioned.
We are almost ready for Jaws, but first, a little treat since Voodoo Doughnut is right there. It’s less than a one minute walk from Lucifer’s to the pink building on the corner.
Voodoo Doughnut
We all know Voodoo Doughnut at this point, and this location opened last year, so go take care of that sweet tooth and let’s get a little sugar rush going to help us through the last leg of the journey.
There is no seating here, so this is a grab-and-go stop. Grab a doughnut and get yourself back to your car wherever it’s parked at this point because we’re heading to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Wilshire.
The Jaws Exhibit
If you skimmed that first paragraph, I’m gonna say it again, this exhibit closes on July 26th, 2026.
Hopefully you are reading this before then, and are headed for some one-on-one time with Bruce. If not, consider visiting between September 27, 2026 to July 25, 2027 for “The Horror Show” exhibit, because that would be another perfect ending to this day.

Okay, the Jaws exhibit. You can read my little blog for more details, but one thing is true, no pictures or videos are going to do this exhibit justice, especially if you love Jaws. There are things everyone will love, and then there’s the very specific items you’ll get a kick out of.
For example, there was a shark tooth casting that had a thin tube down the middle for blood to squirt out of in stunt scenes. This one really got me for some reason.
Another standout was seeing the “prop head for Ben Gardner” and right next to it the scene of Hooper checking out the shark bite in the boat and Ben’s head popping out.
Some of the more popular experiences people have shared:
- Star in your own dolly zoom shot
- Play the infamous Jaws theme
- Operate a mechanical shark
- Snag some great pics with all of the photo ops
All in all, I think there will be something for everyone to enjoy at this exhibit (blood warning if you have younger kiddos with you).

Just kidding, this spooky itinerary is already huge, but I had to squeeze it in. The only thing left is going home and snuggling up for a Jaws marathon.
