A mad science-themed brewery in Ontario with laboratory vibes, neon accents, and a rotating lineup of small-batch beers.
Mad Science and a Darn Good Hazy
Metabolic Brewing Co. in Ontario has been on my list for a while, and we finally made the stop on a spooky Inland Empire day. The theme leans into mad scientist meets 1980s throwback, with skulls, vintage medical charts, neon walls, and laboratory glassware. I love a hyper-specific theme, and this one nails the subgenre of a subgenre.
When we visited, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon was playing on the big screen, and they had board games available, which kept my 8-year-old busy while my husband and I sampled the beer.
I did a flight to try a little of everything, and every pour was solid. The hazy and the pale ale were standouts, crisp, flavorful, and the ones I’ll come back for. It’s tucked into a technology center, but it’s easy to spot once you’re on the correct side and a great stop to any Inland Empire brewery crawl or spooky itinerary.
