A Gallery Right Next to Michael Myers’ House

You know how sometimes the location is part of the experience? SugarMynt Gallery is literally next door to the Michael Myers house from Halloween, which already makes it worth a stop for horror fans. But step inside and you’ll find a cozy, art-forward space filled with behind-the-scenes movie stills, props, original artwork, and a rotating exhibit that makes coming back something to look forward to.

When I went, they were doing a Creature from the Black Lagoon exhibit featuring work from a bunch of different artists. The permanent collection leans heavily into Halloween (obviously), with props, set photography, and nods to Hocus Pocus and other horror-adjacent classics.

The gallery itself is small—just three rooms—but it’s thoughtfully curated and full of charm. When I visited, admission was $10, but it’s currently listed at $20, which is a bit steep for the size. That said, they offer $15 backyard movie nights (BYO food, drinks, alcohol, blankets, and short chairs) and that price includes admission to the gallery. If you’re planning a Slasher Summer night or just looking for something different to do, that’s honestly a sweet deal.

Between the art, the location, and the moody lighting, it feels like walking into a seasonal pop-up haunted house—if the haunted house had gallery walls and a film studies degree.
