A roadside horror museum in Boulder City dedicated to preserving the art of special effects, featuring screen-used props, creature suits, and handmade monsters from Tom Devlin’s collection of horror history.
Where Movie Monsters Live
About 30 minutes outside of Vegas sits a horror museum that’s totally worth the mini road trip. Tom Devlin is a special effects makeup artist with a long list of horror credits and a legit collection of screen-used props, creature suits, and masks. There are monsters and slashers from different decades, along with information cards that highlight the artists, actors, and directors behind the scenes.
Some reviews said it’s a quick walk-through, but it took me an hour. If you’re into the history of special effects or just love seeing horror legends up close, plan accordingly. There’s a lot to read and so many awesome displays that you should be sure to bring your reading glasses and free up your phone storage.
