A Year-Round Haunt in Las Vegas
Las Vegas finally has a year-round haunt, and it comes from the masters of scary themselves: Universal. Universal Horror Unleashed opened in August 2025 inside Area 15’s new Zone 2 expansion, about half a mile from the OG Zone 1.
I was there on a Thursday evening, one week after opening and it was pretty busy, but we got everything done within the three hours we were there. We went through each house twice, had a drink at the bar, and ate at the sit down restaurant.
The experience takes place inside a massive warehouse, with four haunted houses, two themed bars, a quick service food place, and a sit-down Blumhouse-themed restaurant. On the way you’ll see scare actors, photo ops, and performances scattered throughout.
The four houses are (in order of my favorite):
- Scarecrow The Reaping
- Universal Monsters
- The Exorcist Believer
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Between house runs, you can grab a drink at Boiler Bar or Jack’s Bar, grab a quick bite at Rough Cuts, or enjoy a sit down meal at the Blumhouse-themed Premiere House.
It’s not a huge footprint compared to Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando or Hollywood… there are no rides available… and the ticket prices are comparable to HHN, but I did enjoy myself and think it’s a cool experience to check out at least once. I’m not sure what sort of revisit-ability factor there is, but maybe they’ll introduce changes or updates throughout the year.
